'The Sun' uses an old word in a new way (28 jul 11)

'Argie' was an offensive term coined by that noted journal of record, The Sun, during a dispute in 1982 over whether South Atlantic sheepshaggers live on the Malvinas or the Falklands.

In this article, they use the term in a flattering way, describing footballers Tevez, Aguero and Maradona - 'his fellow Argie'.

It just goes to show. An insulting word can be turned into a nice, friendly one.
