Turns out lethal injections aren't as humane as they thought. So U.S. legislators are looking into restoring more traditional methods of execution, such as gas chambers, firing squads, and "ol' sparky". I'd advocate the guillotine. It's humane, plus, you get to stick the offender's head on a spike afterward, which should really deter potential copycat killers, which the USA has a surfeit of.
