Manchester Untied? (08 jan 12)

This spiteful article about Alex Ferguson reminds me of Mark Twain's comment that rumors of his death were exaggerated. It claims, on the basis of two losses and some tabloid rumor, that Ferguson's reign at Manchester United is on the way down. At the same time, it says he might win the League and the FA Cup this year, extending United's records in both competitions to 20 titles and 12 cups... but 'it does not matter'. WTF?!? as they say in America.

There's life in the old dog yet.I knew that when he started talking up Tottenham's chances. It's some kind of mind game which I don't understand, but that's the point. No-one understands it, but it usually works.

Most people would congratulate the most successful FA manager of all time on his seventieth birthday, but not this Guardian hack. Who is Rob Smyth anyway?

According to this article, he supports United: http://www.unitedrant.co.uk/opinion/euro-failure-possible-but-this-is-nothing-like-2005/

With supporters like that...

A guy called Kompany got a red card in the United/City derby - "the defender will miss both legs of City's Carling Cup semi-final against Liverpool". He will miss BOTH LEGS because of a TWO-FOOTED tackle. How appropriate.
