Why it's not always worth helping Google correct their bike map of the USA (04 may 13)

I corrected the bike map of Adelanto - Victorville, CA  in November 2012. I wrote

"El Mirage Rd rapidly becomes a dirt (i.e. sand) road which is very difficult to bicycle".

But Google's 'correction' just continues along El Mirage Rd.. I also added

"Palmdale Rd (CA 18 - CA 138) is definitely not it - it is far too dangerous for bicycles"

but that I had not found an alternative. So the correction awaits a correction.

However, it it's a simple correction, they will do it: they accepted my correction of the Lancaster - Tehachapi, CA bike route, for example.
