Will Obama close CIA secret prisons? (01 feb 09)

New president Barrack Obama has ordered the CIA to close its secret prisons around the world and stop torturing people to get information.

This is a manouver in the time-honored tradition of 'plausible deniability'.

Under Jimmy Carter (1977-1981), the CIA was ordered not to commit war crimes in Central America. It did anyway. That way, America pursued its military aims, and Democrat supporters could sleep at night. A win-win situation - unless you were one of the hundreds of thousands who died in Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador and Nicaragua.

The CIA will expand it's network of secret torture camps without telling the commander-in-chief about it - it'll need them as Obama expands the 'war on terror' in Central Asia.
