You can't make it up LXI - global warming caused kidnapping of Nigerian girls (06 jul 14)

When I first read Nafeez Ahmed's book "The War on Freedom", arguing that the US government participated in, or at least had foreknowledge of, the events of September 11th 2001, I took it seriously.

Shortly afterward, I changed my mind, and decided that Ahmed's book, and the rest of the "9/11 truth" conspiracy pseudo-theory *, is the most ludicrous nonsense I have ever seen in my life.

But the above story in the Guardian beats "The War on Freedom". Ahmed now argues that climate change caused the Nigerian Islamic extremist group Boko Haram to enslave 219 schoolgirls.

Hat tip James Delingpole.

* "9/11 was an inside job" is not a conspiracy theory. A theory is something which can be falsified. If someone defends a theory, you can ask them "what would you expect to be the case if your theory is wrong?" and expect a sensible answer.
