You can't make it up XII - science is a democracy after all (29 aug 12)

You know the idea that "science isn't a democracy"? It means that scientists don't accept as valid the argument that,

if N people believe P,

and M disbelieve P,

where N is greater than M,

P is the case,

even if S = N + M, where S is the set of all scientists.  

Apparently, science IS a democracy: 

Every significant science academy supports the case made by the climate science community. These academies encompass the full spectrum of science and members are elected by merit.
