Finally got a 'smart' phone My first new PDA since I owned a Microwriter Not very well documented or intuitive To download a new ringtone, you have to go through dozens of steps including the following http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1316842 http://www.611connect.com/howto/merben_how-to-get-ringtones-on-your-motorola-droid These links say things like 'Set new new ring tone by going to Home -> Settings-> Sound & Display -> Phone Ringtone' without saying what 'going to Home -> Settings' means (it means touching the middle button at the bottom of your Droid, then the left button, then the word 'Settings' which appears at the bottom right of the screeen) Now it plays 'Right here right now' when someone phones me rather than saying DROID! I'm sure I'll figure out what it's for eventually I have figured out how to send text messages, which I never bothered to figure out on an ordinary mobile phone I get lots of messages For example, one from 'jen155' who says she's really hot and only 0.8 miles away Yeah, yeah, go on, be cynical But suppose she's straight up? That will more than justify the $199 (after mail in rebate) I paid for it (plus about $80 per month)
