The Rabble and the Royal Bank (18 jun 09)

The rabble and its media poodles continue their pursuit of the bankers they consider responsible for the economic crisis. First, hooligans broke into the home of the ex-CEO of RBS, Fred Goodwin, in Scotland and wrecked it. Then at various protests branches of the bank were damaged. The Prime Minister said Goodwin should be forced to pay back his pension 'if it is within the law to do so'. Of course, he knows it's not, but he has the rabble, or electorate, to think of. Finally, Goodwin gave in and paid back some of his pension, all of which he was legally entitled to. Ayn Rand must be turning in her grave.

'A newspaper tracked down former RBS boss Fred Goodwin at his French hideaway'

Hideaway. Tracked down. Look, the guy has not committed a crime. Why should he hide away? Why should he give back money to his ex-employer? In his shoes, I'd tell the Guardian, the government, and the rabble to f*** off.
